    Soccer Legend Mia Hamm Visits New Jersey!

    East Windsor, NJ- New Jersey’s young soccer players have a new friend, soccer legend, Mia Hamm, the only five-time recipient of the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year award. Ms. Hamm, along with New Jersey Youth Soccer Association launched an innovative and fun fundraiser to benefit the Mia Hamm Foundation. Players who raised $250  met and had lunch, with a guest, with the soccer legend herself at the New Jersey’s fundraiser’s celebration, the Soccer Showcase with Mia Hamm. 

    Players who raised $250, with a guest, had lunch with; asked questions to AND EVEN PLAYED IN A SOCCER GAME with soccer legend MIA HAMM. The top 15 overall fundraisers per Area participated in a soccer game with Mia.

    The event with Mia Hamm took place at SportsZone in Monroe, NJ. 

    Roy Squillario, President of New Jersey Youth Soccer Association, says, “We are happy to be able to both support a good cause while giving our players an opportunity to meet Mia Hamm.”

    During the fundraising campaign, as players collect donations they received, at the:

    • $100 level: A flexible wrist band engraved with Mia Hamm’s “Play Hard, Play Fair” message and a congratulatory thank you letter from her.
    • $150 level: A commemorative event T-shirt.
    • $250 level: An invitation to attend, with a guest, the Soccer Showcase featuring Mia Hamm including lunch with Mia, pictures and autographs followed by a Q&A and then a soccer game with the top 15 fundraisers per District and Mia!

    In Ms. Hamm’s own words: The Mia Hamm Foundation is a reflection of my life experiences. I created this foundation to benefit important issues that have directly affected me throughout my life.

    With these issues in mind the mission of the Mia Hamm Foundation is:

North Area

The 24 hour soccer game to support the Mia Foundation Fundraiser will be held at Maple Grange Park in Vernon, NJ on October 1-2 from 12:00 pm-12:00 pm.

Shore Area

 The soccer game to support the fundraiser for the Mia Hamm Foundation DATE AND LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED.  The event will be held on October 22  with open play from 12:00 pm to 2:50 pm at the SportsZone in Monroe, NJ.

The 24 hour marathon soccer game to support the Mia Hamm Foundation fundraiser is being held at SportsZone in Monroe, NJ on October 22 with open play from 12:00 pm-2:50 pm.

 

South Area
